Review content:
This place is the best example of you can't judge a book by it's cover. The outside: a d-u-m-p, with a capital ""D"". BUT - inside a couple of very sincere renters with some of the most singularly delicious wines I've had anywhere. For years I drove by this place and kept going because of it's unattractive facade. But, as the winemaker told me (yes, I talked to the winemaker), he's more into product and lets the landlord handle the other stuff. Never, have I had such marvelous dessert wines! The guy actually makes the brandy he uses for the fortified wines. He has a still. And, he makes whisky and rum and gin and a bunch of other stuff I could never have imagined. This place is truly one of a kind and I am so lucky to have it so close by to where I attend classes at XU. I stop by here regularly on my way to work on Saturday - just to get a stash for the week. I am fixated on all of the types of mead he makes - so many kinds - maybe 5 or 6. One is really strong - kind of like drinking a Yager only smoother and easier to take. Do yourself a favor and drop by some Saturday with a couple of friends - his hours are a pain but it's worth it.
Pros: Quiet, easy to talk - convenient parking
Cons: Strange hours
