When my Mother had her stroke 3 years ago, she insisted on going to Abaco, because it was close to her home. I was leery, but Mama gets her way. I have to admit, I have never regretted it. Thr staff has been outstanding to both myself, and my brother who lives out of state. Mama loves it there, and I don't think she would leave if she could The nurses have always been supportive, and one even sat and held Mom's hand for more than an hour, past the end of her shift, after my uncle, Mom's brother, died. They are quick to call when something is wrong. I have even came home to messages that"" your Mom has the sniffles, but I thought you would want to know she may be getting a cold."" It is comforting to know that I can rest easy knowing they will call if comething is wrong, although sometimes I think they go a wee bit overboard.
