Review content:
If I ever had to choose a nursing facility again, I would choose Abaco if it just isn?t possible to be at home. At 34 years of age, I needed to spend 6 weeks at Abaco Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility after spending months, of and on, at hospitals and ultimately having surgery. There were complications from the surgery that resulted in my being unsafe at home due to medication changes, wound management, and 24-hour medical care monitoring and assistance required. The nurses were always quick to respond and had to change my dressings several times a day. The nursing assistants went the extra mile by giving me massages to relax me and help with the pain. The physical therapists were amazing and because of their consistent attention and support, I went from being basically bed-ridden for 6 months to regaining my balance and strength enough to walk without support.
Because I needed a special diet, the dietary staff brought me special foods. The doctor visited frequently and was responsive to my needs or questions. Activities staff and administration stopped by to talk and help boost my morale. I had a private room so I could easily have visitors and make it like home. I had some pretty good stories to tell my friends about my experiences at the nursing home and although I don?t want to have to repeat it anytime soon, I will remember it as a caring, safe, and pretty nice place to be when you need it.
