Review content:
This is a wonderful cemetery and one of Columbus' greatest landmarks. Not only are dozens of famous and influential people interred here, but it is the second largest cemetery in Ohio. Once considered to be in rural Ohio, it is now surrounded by the bustling city. All said, the serenity of the park remains in tact. The grounds are filled with remarkable moments and mausoleums...from the Hayden family to the Battelle and Lazarus families. A dedicated volunteer coordinator creates a quarterly newsletter, organizes monthly speakers who share stories of the inhabitants, and organizes volunteers who help maintain the grounds. The cemetery is also recognized for its many birds, animal species, plants and trees. If you have interest in a cemetery in Franklin county either for personal reasons, for curiosity, or to get involved, I would highly recommend that you start here.
