Review content:
I have been going to the YMCA in downtown dallas for about 5 years. I've always enjoyed the YMCA, and the recent renovations have been a welcome change. For years the staff at the front desk has been extremely friendly; however, recently they have added front desk workers who are not friendly at all. Today I forgot my ID for the first time in 5 years, and the front desk worker acted like she was not going to let me into the gym. I know full well that she has seen me on a daily basis ever since she first started in the position at the front desk. She said in a condescending tone that she'd ""let me in this time."" I said, ""You've seen me everyday for months."" She said, ""I see a lot of people."" Later on, a man who said he was the manager interrupted my workout and asked if he could speak with me. He defended her actions and said it is policy. I said, ""I've been a member here 5 years and this is the first time I've ever forgotten my ID. I think you could give me a little flexibility."" He said it's policy. I said, ""You've never seen me before? And he said, ""It doesn't matter if I've seen you before."" I could understand the policy if they didn't recognize the member or if the member was consistently forgetting his/her ID, but I think they could be a little flexible with a member who has been coming consistently for 5 years and this is the first time I forgot my ID. . . . The other thing that bothers me about this gym is that they allow members to get into the little hot tub naked. It is gross and unsanitary. Who wants to be sitting in a little confined tub with a naked person right next to them. Yuck!
