Review content:
After the buzz died down, all the life seems to have left this place. The first time I went, a couple of years ago, the food was imaginative and truly tasty, and the crowd was a real kick (I had dinner between a bouncer from the Whiskey and ""weather girl"" Jillian Barberie from Fox 11, and Keanu Reeves was holding court in the back room). I visited a couple of weeks ago, and the food wasn't as well presented or flavorful as I remembered, and the crowd had changed dramatically. It seems as if Vida is now the place to bring your out-of-towner parents and the default dinner spot for neighborhood folks too tired to cook, not a place for a fun, adventurous night out. The best thing still going is the nightly specialty drink. The melon-sake concoction I tried last visit was incredible.
Pros: Specialty drinks
Cons: Mediocre food
