The receipt says ?all Sales are Final? and they mean it, even if they sold you defective merchandise. Look, I would like to support the local guy but if I bought a defective product from Wal-Mart or Costco or Cabela?s they would make it right. When the Kel-Tec I bought at White Elephant didn?t function right out of the box they told me ?Sorry, its between you and Kel-Tec.? Buying fishing worms or lures at White Elephant is one thing. Spending hundreds of dollars for ZERO help and customer service is obscene!
I know White Elephant does the old proverbial price switch whereby they write a ridiculously high price on all of their objects and cross it only to write a lower price, assuming we are idiots and can't see through the ruse but I have lived with that for a long time. (More times than not their ?lower price? is even more than Cabela?s but they are the local company I USED TO DO BUSINESS WITH) What I can't live with is selling defective merchandise and not standing behind it.
So, I have learned my lesson by stepping in White Elephant poop. I now have a Fed-X charge of almost $40.00 to return a defective purchase from White Elephant to the manufacturer.
If you want to deal with a store insults your intelligence with the marked out and subsequent ?reduced price? and does not return or help with defective items then by all means go for the Elephant. If you want a reputable merchant who will help a damaged customer go elsewhere!
