Review content:
On August 11th, 2010, we lost control of our travel trailer 8-9 miles from J&T Crova's impound lot. Canton Police called Crova in as the recovery team for our trailer, which was pretty beat to crap. We explained to the lowboy operator that all of our stuff was in the trailer because we were moving out of state for a job opportunity (I have been out of work since February and my fiance is on disability). We were told we couldn't have any of our personal effects until we paid the towing fee. And even though we told them that all of our personal effects were in the trailer, they took no precautions to keep our items in the trailer, so when they picked it up to put it on the lowboy, about 1/4 of our stuff spilled out onto the side of the road and we couldn't even take home any of that! When we called first thing in the morning on August 12th, approximately 7 hours after the recovery of our trailer was complete, we were told we should just call it a loss. We insisted upon an estimate, and the lowball estimate given the night before of $3000 jumped to $5800! We were told we couldn't have anything until this amount was paid. The crew was rude with no sympathy for our plight, save for one man who tried to be pleasant. The receptionist was rude and told me that the trailer was a mess and I tried to explain that it hadn't started out that messed up. She just talked over me then spit out a $5800 fee that it seemed like she pulled out of nowhere. I think that the police departments need to rethink the towing companies they use.
