Review content:
I never played sports growing up and as a result, I just never had that drive or competitive spirit that is required to be an athlete, right? That's what I thought - until I was introduced to Ron Lyons Ultimate Body Studios. A few years ago I was working 60+ hours a week with 3 children and a husband on a 12 month job assignment in India. I was exhausted, had gained some weight from poor eating choices and wanted to find some ""me"" time. I was looking at a finding a personal trainer at the Y until someone told me about UBS. Quite honestly, it was kind of an impulse move but I signed the contract, showed up for my first day and only then did I realize what I had gotten myself into.
I committed to give them 20 weeks of my life and in return, Ron and his trainers committed to hold me accountable, cheer me on when I thought I couldn't do one more rep and most importantly, remind me that I am worth it. They taught me how adapt healthy eating into my busy work day with proper planning and in return I got stronger physically and mentally and without even realizing it, I became an athlete. I was still working 60+ hours a week but when I wasn't working I was running in local events and cycling with my daughter. Before I knew it I was in Washington DC with my brother running the Army 10 Miler and training for a 100 mile Century ride and I owe it all to Ron Lyons Ultimate Body Studio.
On one of my training rides last year I had a crash and serious injury to my arm that required 2 plates and 14 screws to repair. I had 6 months of rigorous PT to regain the use of my arm and I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that I would not be where I am today - back at Ron Lyons Ultimate Body Studios at 100% - without the confidence I gained through the program. No excuses - just hard work - and quite honestly, the best part of my day!
The only thing I would change about my experience at UBS is an opportunity to hang out with my fellow UBS classmates when not dripping with sweat ... I wonder if we would even recognize each other! :)
