Review content:
Although I've dined at the 17th Street cafe only a dozen times over the years it's been in business, I've always found it to be a wonderful experience and certainly one of the best ""value for your money"" places in Pittsburgh. The food generally falls into the ""Italian"" cusine catagory, but they have several delicious ""Americana"" dishes and experiment with other cusines with near flawless execution. During the Oktoberfest season I found their featured German menu to be as tasty and authentic as I've ever had. My favorite Italian pasta dish is their spicy Sicilian Pasta Diavlo. They also have a nice lunch menu and great sandwiches. The service is great (watchful, but not pesky) and the staff are very friendly.
