Who knew that heaven's gateway extended into San Gabriel? This place is truly the most delectable of all Vietnamese cuisines... yes, even better than Little Saigon. GD serves the best pho and rice dishes. If you're a serious pho fan, you'll enjoy the soup. It's loaded with msg, but that's okay, you can just drink more water afterwards. To start with, their egg rolls (cha gio) are delicious. They serve 5, not 4. The charbroiled-pork-egg-cake rice dish and charbroiled pork vermicelli are also favorites. But be prepared to wait... I've waited 45 minutes for a party of 4 once. The best time to go is between 2-6 pm. ***Business is so good here, that GD takes a month off every summer. That should say something. Oh yeah, service is good too.
