Review content:
I don't usually write reviews, but after the experience I had here I wanted to save others the time and trouble.
Places like this are the reason why bartending schools have a bad reputation.
First off, like prior reviews mentioned, they have ONE person who is running the whole place, taking phone calls, ""interviewing"", and teaching the classes. She is actually really nice and it's not her fault, but the best teacher/bartender in the world could not do 2 completely separate jobs at once. Class is supposed to start at 6pm, but doesnt start until 7:15, 8, or 8:30 (i went 3 times). So students are NOT getting the 40 hours of instruction.
Second, the facility is second rate. They don't even use real ice!!! How can you learn how to bartend without real ice? Ice melts in drinks when shaken/added and changes the volume/consistency. You will be completely off by working with plastic ice. The facility as a whole is dated and old, and you have to climb up the ""fire escape"" behind Capital Carpets to get in!
I dropped out and got my money back since I bought through Groupon, then went to another bartending school in Westchester. Further away, but infinitely times better--I can't even begin to start. I've heard decent things about other bartending schools in NJ but they are much more expensive.... save yourself the trouble and money and do not enroll here!
