Review content:
C Tech Restoration did some work for us in 2010 to repair some water damage in a bathroom. They determined that the problem was due to a leaking shower door, but also resulted in some damage to the wall with a small amount of mold developing inside the wall. The repair involved tearing out dry wall and redoing it after mold remediation was done. The flooring was torn out and replaced and the shower door seal was repaired. The work cost more than $6000. At the time we were happy with the work and professionalism of C Tech management and workmen. The problem recurred in 2011 with evidence of water damage apparent on the drywall in the same area as originally.
C Tech came out to reevaluate and found that the previously repaired shower door was leaking again. Tom, the owner, was involved in the diagnosing the problem, planning and supervising the work at the time and in evaluating the recurrent problem recently. Tom indicated now that the shower door is leaking when opened up to exit the shower, since it was hinged on the wrong side, with the opening edge of the door close to the damaged wall rather than opening out toward the middle of the room, away from the wall. He suggested we have another company replace and rehinge the shower door to open into the middle of the room, away from the damaged wall. (We paid the shower door repair company separately.) He promised to repair the newly damaged drywall and baseboard.
There have been 2 times C Tech went out to do the follow up repair. The first time, he did not have the proper supplies to do the repair. The second time, the repair was done, but not satisfactorily, with an damaged fragment of wallboard closed with a thick amount of caulking rather than properly repaired drywall. The caulking repair was about 5/8 inch wide and sponging feeling. This is NOT a correct use of caulking, since the defect is too large to repair with caulking. We were not satisfied with this. Tom promised to have someone come out to finish the repair yesterday, but no one showed up. Tom also did not return our repeated calls to him about this. His staff told us that he was in the office yesterday.
Tom has been very sloppy about returning phone calls recently. He is communicating an attitude of neglect and disinterest in standing behind the quality work previously paid for in 2010.
WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED!
