I took in a laptop with a noisy fan - I have worked as a computer technician for many years but, I am in school now & do not have time to work on my own stuff - the machine, except for the noisy fan, worked just fine. They billed me $80 for the cleaning. When I brought my machine home and plugged it in - it is dead - no POST, no screen, nothing - just a flash of power lights and then off again. So, I called and talked to the owner who told me I ""must have broken it on the way home, or something"", and she would be happy to repair it for me, as they ""are able to order parts at good prices directly from the manufacturer"" - the tech I talked to lied to me, told me he had booted it up with an Ubuntu disc - I have a BIOS password on the machine, it cannot be booted - anyway, I paid $80 for them to break my laptop, and then lie to me and accuse me of breaking it myself.
