???My son dropped off the 1998 RED cabrio for an oil change. Upon return to pick it up, the manager stated that the stud or stub came out with the oil filter when it was removed and stated he tightened it back in with filter. My son paid for oil change and left with car. He returned with car 30"" later with oil spraying up from the oil filter and below. Spray marks were all over driveway on the way in. Manager stated he needed to tighten stub (fitting from block to filter, not uncommon) and would need to go to the ""hardware store""! What? Hardware store? Yeah that's what I thought when I got this story. I then receive the phone call stating ""it's all set"". When I arrive the manager states he had trouble getting the oil filter off and that the stub (fitting) came out with the filter and he had to buy a tool to tighten it back in and to really watch it closely like check the oil with every stop because he doesn't know it he got it all the way in right. What?! Again that's what I thought.??????Stupid me, I drop my other 1998 Black cabrio off and take the other one to monitor and find that I drove it 15 mi and home. Oil puddle under it immediately after parking, bummer I say to myself. I do some checking online and find that they had another overtightening incident and an unhappy customer so I begin to wonder. I ask my son for the whole story and find out that he already paid for it before he left but then I also paid for it when I picked it up. Ugh..??????I drive it back the next morning and explain the puddle and ask again what exactly he went to the hardware store for again and why? Long story but I explained, we paid twice and showed the receipts. He states he charged me for fixing the fitting, of which he clearly did not and the oil he had to replace. I asked for a refund since I would have never paid to replace and fix my car when I need to take it to the VW repair center anyway. He refused to refund me and refused to give me the keys to my black cabrio. ??????Instead, he called the police and stated I would get a disorderly conduct ticket if I didn't leave. I only asked for a refund and stated it was not right or good customer service and that he did not perform the service that I will now need to go somewhere else to be completed. I finally had to pay for the other car to get my keys but all in all I will not return, not even for a car wash at this point. ??????I advise against going to this establishment for an oil change as they do not take responsibility for their work and their work is questionable at best. It's not worth the argument or treatment as customer to have to take the extra time and disrespect from the manager who sets the example for the 3 boys he had working for him that witnessed the whole ordeal. It was embarrassing and I feel I will not support the manager setting this sort of example as a business.??????I wish he would have resolved the issue fairly, after all I did give him a second chance with my other car assuming he was nice and was standing by his work knowing I would have to have it rechecked by my VW engine repair man to ensure it was ok anyway. ??????Not worth the $$ or the trouble, don't do it.
