Review content:
I'm relocating from NY to Chicago. I flew to Chicago late March to make an appointment with Apartment Savvy to get an apartment. At first, they seemed great. There was no sales pressure, I liked my agent, and she showed me three apartments within my requirements, one of which I LOVED. I went back to the office, filed all the paperwork, and they said there would be no problems, and they would call if there were any. I also made sure they knew that I was from out-of-state, and that I needed to have an apt. lined up before I left for the weekend, and they said, ""No problem."" This was Friday. Saturday afternoon rolls around, and I haven't heard from them, so I call to make sure everything went through okay. There's a major problem. The apartment falls through because THEY screwed up information about pets, and I wasn't about to give up my cat. I run back late afternoon on Saturday and another agent takes me to three more apartments. I made sure they double-checked the pet policy. I found another one that I liked even more. I go back, fill out the paperwork, put down a deposit, and they say, ""There will be no problems."" I fly back to NY only to find out two weeks later that it isn't going to work out because they, again, mis-filed paperwork. I was livid, especially because I was planning on moving to Chicago May 1, and now I had to push everything back a month because by then, it was too late for any May 1 apartments. Thank god I have family in Chicago because they went out with Apartment People and found an apartment for me. I faxed them the paperwork, and two days later, everything was good to go and I'm signing the lease today. So now, even though I'm homeless for a month (my lease in NY ends in May), I feel better knowing I have a place. Pros: Nice agents Cons: Everything else, especially the processing dept.
