Review content:
The bread basket contained nondescript non-warm rye bread - not bad but nothing special. The crab cakes were very good, but a tad small. The accompanying sauces were O.K., but nothing special. Mixed results on the entrees. My trout was wonderful - nice grilled smokey flavor, tender and served with a great corn relish. The two (more would have been better) fried green tomatos had a goat cheese paste between them (think sandwich) and it worked fantastically. My wife's entree, the Veal Picatta was cooked O.K. and looked great, but was very bland, and the side noodles could have also used more flavor. Both entrees were average size. The dessert, chocolate molten cake, was more like a baked cupcake with a dark pudding filling. Nice, but nothing great. Overall, nothing was unacceptable, but at a price point where many entrees are $20 and up, it could have been better.
Pros: friendly service, trout tasty
Cons: small crab cakes, bread, veal picatta bland
