Review content:
When I stop into a bakery because on impulse I want to surprise my staff with some pastry, I dont expect that I am going to be chastised for buying too much, and not pre-ordering. This is what happened at Noe Valley Bakery. The staff made sure I was aware of their irritation in having to box up 2 dozen pastry when there were 3 other people waiting behind me. When I let the manager know how embarrassed I was by the incident, he confirmed that because of my greed, someone who might be expecting that item wouldnt be able to have it that day. Makes me re-think dropping $60, or even .60 at this neighborhood establishment. From now on I will happily go out of my way to Tartine, they dont seem to mind selling pastry to customers in any quantity they can accommodate, and without public embarassement. Cons: service, staff
