Sacramento County contracted Vangaurd to repair some sidewalks around my neighbor hood. Sounds nice right? Wrong. It has been an absolute nightmare.
Two days before construction begins I receive a 48 Hour parking notice stating that no vehicles are to be parked on the street where construction is taking place. No problem. However, when construction began, their workers started ripping out all of the concrete in front of my driveway. So I asked a worker, ""will my driveway be accessible so that I can park my vehicle in the garage at night and not on the street where I was informed not too."" The worker stated that I would need to park my vehicle on the street if I needed to use it because my driveway would not be accessible. I asked if there was any way to have my drive way accessible and again the employee assured that there would be no way and this was the same for my other neighbors having construction done in front of their driveway. The employee did state that the construction would only take two days and I would have my driveway back.
8 Days later, the construction was not completed and overnight to the 9th day of construction my vehicle, which was forced to be parked on the street due to construction blocking my driveway, was vandalized. This company is now stating that they are not liable for the damages.
When I called in to speak with a manager, I got the ""who are you that I should be speaking to you attitude,"" as if I am a nobody. (A nobody whose taxes are paying for their services). I was given a lot of attitude and absolutely no concern or solid attempt to help. When I explained the situation I was met with a ""so.""This company also stated that they would have made my driveway accessible If I had called and asked (see paragraph 3). They stated that they can not vouch for what their employee had told me and that I got a flyer stating to call if I had issues. In other words, they can not fully trust their employees to know how to do their job. Sounds responsible. Not. Since they heard no complaints over the phone, and I was naive enough to believe that an employee should know how to do his job, I am getting the shaft.
Overall this company has a LAZY work ethic with an"" I'm NOT RESPONSIBLE for that"" attitude. I would never recommend this company and if you are having construction performed in your area by this company, put up a huge stink BEFORE they start in your neighborhood.
I would give them a -5 out of 5 stars if I could.
