Review content:
The Biotechnology Academy, located off of Harris and 8th Avenue, has re-modeled what was previously known as the Land Lab but has the new name as the Outdoor Research Facility (ORF). The ORF is complete with a 96X30 ft green house, two 12X12X4 fire brick Turkey Pits, a chicken pin, and an Aquaculture building complete with a tool shed, garage and finally the Tissue Culture room. The Tissue Culture Room is an amazing room of experience, and it has a concept that many would never truly consider. The Culture Room has a fantastic array of plants including full grown Orchids, orchid seeds, African violets, potatoe plants and so many other amazing plants. But before I get a head of myself, many of you are probably asking what Tissue Culturing even is.Tissue Culturing is defined as: The technique or process of keeping tissue alive and growing in a culture medium (Dictionary). There are plenty of different tissues that are cultured and can be cultured, but the Biotech Academy focuses on plant based tissue culturing. This facility has the most fantastic group of students who conduct research in it. I vote it five stars for educational purposes. All the teachers and the director are pro education, and would love to have any student interested in science to join their academy in academic achievement!
Pros: Fantastic learning environment.
Cons: Still getting started, so its not completely finished yet.
