Review content:
It's hard to strike a balance between stiff formality and the relaxation of homey comfort. Lucques pulls it off seemingly without effort -- an amount of thought goes into their dining experience that would earn someone a doctoral degree in any other field. We were seated immediately and the service was quick and attentive. Everyone from hostess to busboy was very well educated. The ingredients were amazingly fresh, and the attention that went into their preparation, from the humble to the exotic, seemed clear, starting with the nettle soup; I'll look for the recipe in the Lucques cookbook. The rest of the meal maintained the clarity of that high note. When we were done, there was space in front of the fireplace where we could continue conversations and sample their whisky. Quite the memorable evening. I didn't attend the canonical Sunday Supper, so we'll definitely be going back.
Pros: Brilliant food, Educated staff
Cons: not a quick in & out
