Review content:
When I first arrived in Austin about a year and a half ago, I was not sure what to expect. My husband likes horror movies and perhaps I've watched too many of them with him, but I got nervous at the site of any place off the beaten path. Well, Ed's Automotive is NOT like in one of those movies. :) We have a very old car and I realize it needs more than the usual fair share of attention, but there comes a point when we began to feel gouged by the big chain place where we had been going. I won't say which big chain place it was, but they had a recent history with trying to push over-priced and/or unnecessary products and services on us. So when our old car needed repair, we decided to try out Ed's. It is only a walking distance from where we live, so we thought at least one of us could go pick it up after he was done. We have been loyal repeat customers ever since. Ed knows his stuff and he does a good job at a good price. We don't feel price-gouged and he does not try to push unnecessary products or services on us. He just helps us take care of our old vehicles as needed. I have been very suprised at his honest way of doing business. For instance, we had one part that needed replacing and it was still under warranty. We did not know it was under warranty but Ed checked it out himself and replaced it for free. I know he could have gouged us good but he is very honest like that. If and when we ever have to relocate, my husband already said he will miss Ed so we have to find a way to help him relocate with us wherever we go. :D
