I used to be very happy with Arthur's Shoe Repair : his service was good and his prices were excellent.
Unfortunately, I had a big disappointment when I went back to him last week. Not only had his prices more than doubled compared to last year, but he also did something very unethical: he quoted me eight dollars for the pair when I was dropping my shoes, and then charged me $16 when I was picking them up. He denied ever having said $8 the first time around, said that his business no longer belonged to him but to his son and that his son had raised the prices. As if that justified him cheating me! He was very rude while talking to me as well. What a ripoff!
Cons: expensive; terrible service
