Because of my celiac (no gluten) and IBD we never eat out because I feel like I'm a pain with my special requests. Eating with others is such an important social experience and everyone should have the right to a good meal together with family/friends. I emailed Preservation Kitchen that we wanted to come for my birthday, a very special treat since we never dine out, and could they accommodate me? I gave them a clear list of what foods I could and could not eat and was reassured that we would be taken care of. Well, I was served something I can't eat and when we told the owner I couldn't eat it, she accused me of being wrong and that I was the one confused about what was on my plate. She wasn't polite about it and embarrassed me in front of everyone we were with. It ruined the entire experience not to mention I left hungry. Very frustrating because asking for a simple fish and steamed veggies doesn't seem like a hard request. Not to mention the servings were very small for the high price they come at.
