I wanted to hire a company that had done good by me in the past -- Flat Rate Moving. But they were booked solid for a month My choice to hire LaProm was a very, very, bad choice.
What a disaster. They were courteous, but took forever to load about 2/3 of my 1 BR apartment. Then they announced it was time to quit. And I was left with my entire kitchen not packed or moved, and much of the items from the rest of the apartment also scattered around and not on the truck.
And then, apparently, it was quitting time. So for two days and nights I slept on a mattress without sheets (where were the linens packed) for a couple of hours at a time, rising to try and pack up my place all by myself. What an ordeal. I would have paid whatever they wanted to do this, but apparently they were just done for the day. Down the garbage chute went all of my dishes, crystal, and family heirlooms because I simply didn't have any way of moving them. I'm sure the guys at LaProm are chuckling over their ""triumph"" of a middleaged woman losing everything that mattered to her.
Finally I come up for air, without a shower or sleep for 3 days. And for this, I got to pay LaProm $733! Yay!
