Went to this place on the Pretty City deal only to be told (not at the time I made the appointment, mind you) after having gone all the way there, after I was sitting in the chair, after I'd gone through the consultation, after the colorist had begun mixing the color, that the ""single process color"" deal applied to a root touch up. What?! So, it was double the special price for her to mess up my hair. She seemed incapable of conceiving of a hair color between hers & my own. I should never have said ""Like yours, but not as dark."" I should have brought a picture. She kept saying that if she didn't make it as dark as hers there'd be almost no change. It's really dim in there, very hard to see, so I deferred to her. She said she would see what brainstroming ideas she could come up with, since she didn't want to have it be too dark & have me ""freak out,"" saying I seemed like the type who would. This made me feel as though I were being unreasonable and rude and should lighten up, which is not an instinct I should have followed. Before she started, she said she did it not quite as dark as hers, but let me tell you, it's darker. She said she'd use a tone that would add warmth. She didn't. The color is very dark & VERY drab. It was too hard to tell before I left due to the poor lighting & the fact my hair was still mostly wet. It was nearly dry when I got to my well-lit home and I was pretty surprised. It's not the end of the world. Luckily it's semi-permanent & will lighten so I can go somewhere in a month or 2 to have them warm or brighten it a little. Save yourself the time & trouble. I heard great things about the owner & another colorist in a lot of reviews (Kristin & Jaimy) and it wasn't either of them who did this to my hair, since according to the receptionist who booked me, they are booked all month. I thought I'd walk out with a Kate Beckinsale sort-of hair color, but ended up super dark hair that has an awful, unnatural tone to it.
Pros: receptionist was nice
Cons: don't go with a colorist who hasn't been recommended to you
