Review content:
I have never written one of these things before but the meal I had at Lagniappe forced my hand. I ate the oyster po' boy with a side of greens. I've had ""real southern cookin'"" in Portland before and it usually just means that everything is burned and served with corn bread. At Lagniappe everything was fresh and of the best quality from the tomato to the oysters to the delicious bread it came on. The other plus was the amount of oysters I got. Po' boys I've had in the past have maybe three medium sized oysters so not only do you feel like you're getting ripped off but they don't cook right and get all oozy. At Lagniappe, they use extra small oysters dredged in corn meal so they taste like oysters but have a nice little crunch at the same time- and you get scads of em'! Sandwich awesome, greens awsome, great inobtrusive service, go there! Pros: Crazy good food Cons: dunno.... kinda smelled like fresh paint?
