I researched online like a mad-woman all the potential wedding dance studios in nyc. I did not have any personal references but settled on NY Wedding Dance because the reviews were positive, the space seemed nice, and the rates seemed reasonable. My fiance (who resisted the whole process at first) and I were paired randomly with an instructor named Joey. We got married three weeks ago and when i reflect on the wedding process, Joey was a huge part of it. We loved a very untraditional first dance song which i didn't even think was dance-able. Joey choreographed a kick-ass samba routine for two non-dancers which we could execute to a tee. Neither of us had any dance experience and i had grave concern that we would make utter fools of ourselves and what was meant to be fun and upbeat would end up just looking silly. Joey made sure our dance was red hot. He had the patience of a saint and has the most positive and upbeat attitude. My fiance and I executed moves that i never thought we could nail. He was just plain awesome and i would recommend him without any hesistation to anyone looking to take dance lessons before the big day! I have always been skeptical of online reviews and think they are bogous and i never could imagine that i would create a citysearch account to write this review, but joey really blew us away and made our day that much more special. People are still talking about our first dance! Thanks so much, Joey!!
