Review content:
It isnt impossible to play River oaks, But finding someone that admits to being a member IS. If you do, it will be about 200 for the round and you must be playing with a reputable member. BUT, the exorbitant membership dues and guest fees are not all wasted. The greens keeper and crew do an amazing job to keep the course green and immaculate 365 days a year in Houston, Texas! Its something you must see to believe. GREEN BERMUDA GREENS IN THE SUMMER!!! IN HOUSTON!!! They have recently extended a few tee boxes, giving certain holes an added level of difficulty. This course is not for the faint of heart or even the average golfer. With 200 foot elevation changes on some holes, to slick, undulating greens, this course deserves its prestige. I will say the former pro, Dick Harmon (Brother of Tiger Woods former coach, Butch Harmon) Was the ultimate picture of a class act...I cant say as much as some of the ""legacy"" members occupying the halls of R.O.C.C. right now. Bruce Davidson is the current Head Pro, and he is also another class act. I highly recommend that anyone, if given the opportunity, come and play River Oaks, it will not disappoint. For its beauty is unparalleled in this city. Once you set foot on the first tee, You will realize why we love golf....then once you hit it in the first of about 300 bunkers the club has on the course, you'll realize why you hate it.
Pros: Course Maintenance, exceptional staff and Pros,
Cons: Exclusivity
