I called this company on 22 Jan 2010 to fix an issue on my furnace: it had an intermittent problem and would stop working one or twice per week, and would have to be manually restarted in the basement. They came 3 days later (25 Jan 2010), and the guy detected the issue (which was an air leak), but he broke the defective part completely (the part is called a Pan condensate), so that the furnace could not run at all after his intervention ! He did not say he broke anything and he showed us the middle part of the furnace and told us it would need to be changed but he had not such spare part in his truck. He charged $85 for the diagnostic, and said we would be called to get a quote for the reparation. We got the quote a few minutes later over the phone, with no detail or whatsoever: it was $579. We thought that this was because the part was big, expensive and complicated to change, and accepted the charge upfront over the phone by credit card: big mistake ! The guy came back in the afternoon and did the reparation in less than 40mn. We checked on the WEB: the part price is actually $85.00 resale price !! We have been charged $579 for a $85 piece and 40mn of work (not even mentioning the diagnostic price we paid the same morning) In addition, the part was not mounted correctly and we had a big water leak afterward: they had to come back the day after to fix it ! After realizing the trick, I called them several times to try to lower the bill, but they did not accept to change anything !. I'm considering that we've been purposely misled and denied any quote details to make us believe that this was a very big reparation. STAY AWAY !
