Review content:
I purchased a 2 month old kitten from Cat Nap Estates at the local Petco store for $95.00. The kitten was unable to meow, and had eye drainage, so I took her to the vet two days after purchase. The kitten was found to have coccidiosis (intestinal parasite), ring worm, and a feline herpes virus infection that is recurrent and cannot be cured. The first visit to the veterinarian cost me an additional $259.90. I am now also required to take my two other pets for testing in two weeks, which will cost an additional $80 for the test. If they test positive, treatment will cost over $400. I will also be required to treat my children if they develop ring worm infections. My good deed of adopting a kitten from this organization has already cost me $400, and will likely cost nearly $1,000 before all is said and done. I cannot believe that an organization that purports to save these beautiful animals would neglect them so severely, and then use Petco?s well known corporate name to prey upon unsuspecting consumers. I am further distraught that Petco allows this organization to do so. I would NOT recommend purchasing / adopting any animal from this organization. I adopted my dog from the Houston SPCA, and for $85 we adopted a beautiful, healthy dog.
Cons: Very sick kitten, cost much time, money to nurse to health
