Review content:
I went to Dr. Barach just over a year ago. I had a mini tummy tuck the cost was 6500.00. My sister had gone to him about a 3 months before and had a full tummy tuck done and the cost was the same. My scar was supposed to be half the size of hers and my surgery not as extensive. Full tummy tucks mean relocating your belly button in most cases which will have more scaring. I didn't need a full one according to the dr. My surgery came out well but my scar was just as long as my sisters (hip to hip) my recovery time was much shorter and surgery time was much shorter (I don't know why they charge the same amt!) A year later my sisters tummy tuck is flat and firm she has not gained weight. Mine on the other hand is not. I also did not gain weight but I still have a good 2 inches of rolling skin which I think should not be there. I went back to the doctor who said my situation was unusual and would do the re-surgery for free but I would have to pay for the hospital/anesth. etc. I am not happy with my surgery for the cost. I think the repair should be completely free since the cost was so high to begin with compared to the full tummy tuck and the fact that it did not correct the original problem. For the record I am not over weight (130) and I am in fairly good shape for 42. I do not know if this is an unusual occurance but you may want to ask ahead of time just in case it happens to you. BTW the doctor was nice and the office and facilites were clean. Those things were of no issue.
Pros: facility/dr were nice
Cons: the outcome was not as anticipated and correction of the problem would be costly to me
