Review content:
After my 15 year old daughter started to recover from a random virus that had gone around our whole family, she started feeling sick again. We thought it was just a relapse, that she had done too much, too soon. She was complaining of a headache, and her back hurt-- but we attributed the backache to the fact that she had been in bed for a week, and she was just sore. Dr. Blankenau wasn't in, but we saw John. He examined Riley, then ordered several tests, and he told me that he needed to rule out everything else first, but that he believed she had meningitis. When all the other tests came back negative, he sent us straight to the ER, where she was immediately put on Rocephin (sp) for the infection). When the ER doctor found out we had been sent in by Minor Emergency, he told us what a great practice they were, and how he knew John well enough to trust that his diagnosis was solid. And it was. And because he sent us into the ER instead of having us wait and see, my beautiful daughter is now perfectly healthy, with none of the scary outcomes you often hear about with bacterial meningitis. I love Minor Emergency of Denton. We always have a pleasant experience, and we have been in for everything from strep to ear infections to adoption physicals. But I'll always be grateful to them for saving my daughter's life.
