I am in complete disbelief in the actions of Alpine. We have used their services several times, and my parents patronized them for many years. I had faith in their services until the week of September 12th. Are beloved dog of 10 years was acting down and had a swollen eye. We took her to Alpine. I am disabled and live on a fixed income and explained to them that cost didnt matter but please only run test needed. There was no exam except looking at her eye. They charged $55 and asked for stool sample to be brought in. (also gave eye drops) Our beloved pet became more unresponsive and we took her back to them. They said that they believed she was anemic, needed stool sample, and would go from there. Still never even examined our pet. We finally got stool sample and took to them, had told them from start seemed our pet wasnt going as normal but we finally got sample and took to them on friday. Monday our pet was even worse and still no word from Alpine so we called them. They said was old and new blood in her stool and they didnt have resources to help, they didnt call us even after finding this we called them, told us to go to some hospital 60miles away. Our family was devastated. I couldnt believe the way they had no concern for our pet or us! I then called West Flint animal hospital. I explained to them all we had been through the last week with Alpine and was asked to please bring our beloved pet to them. WE DID! The vet there within ten minutes, and after an exam, said he was almost 100 percent sure what was wrong! Our beloved female dog had Pryometria or cancer, but he was almost possitive wasnt cancer. Pryometria is common in unfixed females and requires doggy hysterectomy. West Flint hospital seemed very unhappy in Alpine and without saying it let us know Alpine was incompetent in their care of our pet. The surgery was done very next morning! Unfortunately because of the week delay in her diagnosis, thanks to alpine, one of the abscesses broke. We lost her two days after surgery! I called Alpine twice, once to tell them the diagnosis before surgery (rude is an understatement of how I was treated and spoke to) and then after we lost her to return the unopened eye medicine, we had same medicine and never opened medicine from Alpine. Alpines concern was their restock fee, we paid for stock fee and told them we would never be back! The saddest part is losing our beloved pet, but if Alpine would have even felt her belly in the beginning our baby would most likely be here recovering instead of heaven! West Flint felt her belly within minutes and brought second vet to confirm. What took our babys life was the infection from abscess burst. I researched and found that once this happens life is lost within 24 hours. If Alpine would have at least did an exam the first day we brought her in, unless completely incompetent, they would have felt the masses. And the surgery would have happened seven days sooner before abscess burst! The uterus is about the size of little finger, our beloved pets was the size of pop can with several pockets of infection!!! ALPINE NEVER EVEN EXPRESSED SORROW FOR OUR LOSS! In my opinion all they cared about was how much money they could collect from our sorrow! I just pray patrons see this before using Alpine and the loss of our beloved pet at the least saves another loved pet from being lost due to Alpine!
