We are on vacation here and decided to go to TCF since we don't have one where we are from. I've been before and in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando and it's always been a decent experience. First of all it was a zoo in there, granted it was Saturday night, but I've been to busy restaurants before, that was a little much. After waiting 30+ min to be seated, 3yr old daughter in tow, we ordered the corn tamales appetizer. It was good and came within a few minutes, but then we ordered our main dishes. I ordered Pasta Carbonara and my husband ordred a Bleu Cheese Burger. It took them 30 min to get us the food which I can understand if the kitchen is backed up but the fact that the waitress never even came by our table to apologize or explain annoyed me as we were very patient, but had our anxious 3 yr old with us. Our waitress was rushed and very short with us. Once we got the food, my Carbonara was not real Carbonara in the traditional sense at all, but more like butter soaked spaghetti with some bacon chunks. It was disgusting...which seems to be the common theme at TCF. My husband's dish was fine, but it was a burger...not hard to do. I did take a cheesecake to go which was the only good part of the whole thing. My advice to TCF is to simplify the menu and stick to dishes they are good at instead of making 100 mediocre dishes...next time I'll go somewhere more authentic for better food and service, I'm sure.
