Review content:
A while back my condenser unit's fan motor was making a loud noise. I ordered a replacement motor from the internet. But then the noise stopped so I held onto the new motor. Later I had a problem with coolant leaking. ABA Appliance serviced this by replacing my air handler. No problem so far. A couple of months later the cooling problem returned. I called ABA because to me it seemed like they failed to fix the leak when they replaced the air handler. The ABA service man investigated the problem and said it was the condenser unit fan motor. I believed him because I remembered that it had been making noise a while back and that I had even ordered a new motor for it. But then he told me that a new motor couldn't be ordered and that he would need to replace the entire condenser unit (which was less than 2 years old). He looked embarrased when I showed him I had already ordered a motor. I asked for a quote to install it. He said $350. That seemed too high so I turned it down. He left for less than a minute and returned saying his boss would let him do it for $250. I turned down his second bid, saying I would do it myself, and paid him $40 for the visit. He insisted it would be a tough job, impossible to do without a special tool called a ""hub puller"". I easily replaced the motor in 15 minutes using nothing but a wrench and a screw driver. I don't plan to call them again.
Pros: They arrived on time.
Cons: The service guy was either dishonest or didn't know his trade very well.
