Review content:
I was born in Philly but we moved to Broomall when I was one year old. (I am 52 now).
The Thunderbird was our hangout! A place for us kids to go and socialize and eat the best pizza and cheesteaks anywhere (hands down).
I have fond memories of The Thunderbird when the Grandpa Greco and Bill senior ran the restaurant! I am talking back in the early-mid 70's when you would be done eating and then tell the person at the regsiter what you had to eat. It was the trust factor. You did not get a dinner check at the end of the meal. Broomall was a trusting safe little town. Still is ok but busy now.
Anyway, I still stop by there when I am in town on business and it is nice to see the kids running the place. Their father and grandfather would be extremely proud of their kids as this little jem has not changed and all the food is cooked and tastes exactly how it did when I was a kid. Prices are reasonable too. It is also cool that they have pictures of the restaurant from the late 60's early 70's which is such a nice touch!!
Over 50 years and still going strong!! This is a real piece of what America is all about and everyone should visit and eat here at least once!!! I can guarantee you will come back time and time again!!
Here's wishing The Thunderbird another 50 years of success!!
Ira Sherman
