Review content:
I went here for my birthday with my boyfriend. I was hopeful about it because this place has a nice-looking menu. The host is polite and punctual, and I saw him helping out...refilling water glasses and stuff. Our server was pathetic. He asked us if we wanted any wine, which we did not. He got a rude look on his face as if we were cheap or unsophisticated. He waslked away and didn't ask if we wanted any coke or tea or anything, so we actually drank water with our meal. The apetizer of fried artichoke was ok. For the main course, my boyfriend ordered a sausage and pasta plate. This is an Italian restaurant, and the noodles were soggy and runny. The marinara sauce was bland and gross. The dish reminded us of spaghettios. I ordered a filet, blue cheese and pasta dish. From the second they set it down on the table, I couldn't stop gagging. It smelled funky. I thought maybe I was imagining it, so i took a bite. The meat had expired, and I mean expired! My boyfriend took a tiny bite, and he agreed. Since our server never checked on us afrer the food runner dropped off the plate, we had to signal him over to complain. His reply was ""Let me tell them you don't like it."" Ummm...I don't like it? It's spoiled! So the owner comes out and says ""I'm sorry you don't like your food."" Way to not accept fault! He tried to tell us that funky taste was the blue cheese. My boyfriend quickly told him, ""She eats blue cheese all the time. And I tried that too. It's spoiled."" He tries to tell us that he tasted ithe meat, it's ok and he doesn't want us ""to go around town telling people Zolo's serves spoiled meat."" So...he ends up comping the meal, and we are rushed out of there. He is extremely polite, and at this point we know that he knows it was spoiled It was all very akward. The server never came back, and I don't even know why we left him a tip. We felt sick all night, and I will never go back here. How insulting that he tried to tell me that expired meat tastes like blue cheese!
Pros: Nice server, cute restaurant.
Cons: Bad service, bland marinara sauce, overcooked pasta, spolied meat.
