Review content:
I am highly disappointed. In March 2012 we bought a 2001 ford windstar from Ballard St. Auto. We had the van under two months when it came to a screeching halt & a dead stop at a major intersection while we were getting on the highway. The subframe gave out and fell off. We could have been killed & rolled the van if it had happened only five minutes later while driving on the highway at 70 mph. Only after paying $1,500 for repairs did I realize there was a recall on this van. I tried contacting Ballard through emails and didn't even get the common courtesy of a response. I understand that it's a ""RECALL"" for a reason, but you can't tell me that the dealer didn't know about this! Why was it not disclosed to us before hand? Any GOOD & educated car dealer should be well aware of defects like this. They DO know about recalls. I don't care what anyone says. Their business is cars! If they don't know about recalls then they should find a new profession! Dennis Tarentino should have NEVER sold us this van with such a major safety issue. On the Ballard St. website it says Dennis inspects each vehicle himself. Obviously he did not inspect ours. The mechanic who repaired our van said if the accident had happened at a higher rate of speed or while on the highway we would have rolled the van, possibly killing ourselves, not to mention others in our path. Now I feel like the sucker who bought a complete lemon. It's a very unsafe van! Even after the repairs I'm scared to death driving it with my babies in the car. I will only drive it locally within the city & I try to avoid taking my kids whenever I can. We are now out $4,500 for the purchase price and the $1500 in repairs for a van we didn't even drive in for two full months. I will tell everyone where they SHOULD'NT buy a vehicle from. What a shame that a lemon was sold to a family who only wanted a safe family car. How can a person sleep at night with a clear conscience knowing full well they put the lives of innocent people and children in danger? All for a profit! I'm beyond devastated, I have no way to get around with my kids because pretty much.. I'm without a car and without money to purchase another one. Completely taken advantage of by Dennis and Yep, I guess I am that sucker
