Review content:
Greenwich is a very small town on the Delaware Bay, literally. Some of it's roads end at the waters edge. Spectacular views, particularly for bird-watching. The town is a historic gem with beautiful homes, farmland, several museums and a small school (I visited on the day of the school's annual Halloween Parade which begins at the Tea Burner Monument travels up the main street back to the school passing the Greenwich Country Store and the Post Office and what appears to be the entire townspeople lined up along both sides of the street.) I've been to Greenwich before, namely for the annual craft fair held in September and for many a bicycle trip so I've been to the Greenwich Country Store several times. It's the only place for lunch open year-round in Greenwich. They have a small grocery selection but really this place is a deli. The food is good deli fare The Down Jersey sub is a good bet (roasted turkey with boxed stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo). I was alerted to a special hot dog named after a local that is topped with sweet and hot peppers, onions, bacon, relish and lord knows what else, but it was GOOD. This is a good spot to grab lunch and sit at one of the tables and watch the locals come and go to the store or to get their mail next door. It's a bit of a meeting place. Only one complaint and perhaps it's because I'm not a native Greenwicher, but the propieters are not the warmest. In fact, they can be downright unfriendly. I refer this place with a warning: go in, figure out what you want, order fast, don't ask for any variations, don't make small talk or expect any and for god's sake, don't ask to pay in any other way but CASH.
Pros: Value, Locale
Cons: Service
