Review content:
My car overheated near Hagerstown in June 2011 and I googled ""Lincoln dealers in Hagerstown"" because I had to get help ASAP. My search brought up Massey Auto, which was listed as a Lincoln dealer. I drove my car (which was extremely overheated) to Massey. Once there, the men who run the service department told me it would take several days for them to look at my car and fix it, so I left it there. They never called me about my car or what was wrong with it, or if they fixed it. I had to call them to get any answers. Once I got someone on the phone, they felt my car was repaired and ready for pickup. When I drove down (an hour and a half) to pick it up, the bill was $410.97 for ""testing"" and no parts added or involved in the ""repair."" They did not ask me or call beforehand for any sort of approval to do any of this so-called ""testing"" on my car or to get my OK for whatever they were about to do. I paid the bill, assuming that my car was fixed as they said, and left the premise. I drove an hour or so to Carlisle, PA, and had the same problem - the car overheated and was smoking AGAIN. I called the dealership back again and they told me they could come and have it towed back to their dealership if I would give approval to do ""more testing."" At this point I just wanted to get my car back to my home. We came to an agreement that they would have it towed to my residence in Pennsylvania and they said the total bill would be $380 and I would pay $190 and they would pay the other part. To make a long story short, the dealership sent the tow driver to the WRONG TOWN and made me pay the bill to get my car back! Over $1,500 !!!!
I will never, ever, go back to this so-called Lincoln dealership (they are not an official Lincoln dealership, as I have come to find out). I could have initially paid a tow company about $300 myself to have the car towed home; instead this dealership made the mistake of sending my car to the wrong place and then refused to pay. After I got my car home (paying $400 to have it towed by a local company), I took it to a local dealership and they repaired my car in one day with a water pump, which is all it needed after this huge mess. I lost over $2,000 on this situation and hope no one else has to deal with this sort of treatment from this dealership ever again. The owners and people who work in the service department were rude, unresponsive, uncaring, and did not acknowledge their mistake and ""make it right"" with me. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
