Sugar Creek Lutheran has been a strong faith leader in the Delavan-Elkhorn community for well over 100 years. Perched in the countryside between the two cities, the white clapboard church with its green tin roof and the newer brick church promise friendship, beautiful music, and solid Biblical preaching from its minister Gerry Petersen. He has been an institution at the church for many years. Newcomers are welcome and there are often 20+ kids at the children's sermons. It has a strong confirmation program, and has been working hard on establishing new ideas--- contemporary worship services, and theatre trips for interested members. The church has a great choir and three talented organists. Come visit us! You'll find a home here!
Pros: Liberal with a strong Biblical foundation
Cons: With three services, it is difficult to get to know everyone!
