Review content:
One visit to Saratoga Retirement Community had my parents excited with anticipation. We did the financial planning and discovered that indeed they could afford to move into a beautiful, 1 bedroom apartment. Their new home had a large, picture window that could see the east hills, eucalyptus trees and a large garden with deer and birds. This view has become the centerpiece for my parents as they eat breakfast, read the paper and have their tea. The things that attracted our family to SRC include a cozy dining room with wonderful cuisine! We have moved all of our holiday gatherings to my parents apartment. We are much more relaxed without worrying about food preparation. We simply reserve a table for our holiday meal and walk over to the dining room. SRC has done a remarkable job of making family members and guests feel welcome. This is especially true of our holiday meals. It adds to the festivities to see other families gathered around their tables with their children and grandchildren in tow! They do a beautiful job of decorating as well. We have created some beautiful memories for my family and especially my son at SRC. We enjoy going swimming in their pool and resting in the hot tub afterwards. My son and I have spent lots of time playing Marco/Polo in the pool as my parents cheered us on! My parents seem to like the amount of independence they have while living at SRC. They get free rides from a shuttle bus to local markets, shopping and to the doctor. Even after my father had a stroke, he can go on his own to get his blood drawn. The van driver takes good care of him, dropping him off and picking him up so he get his errands done. We have had so many positive experiences with Saratoga Retirement Community that there are just too many to name here. Lastly, there seems to be a much higher ratio of men to women. Most retirement communities seem to be filled with a majority of women, or at least the ones we previewed. So after five years at SRC my parents have witnessed many happy couplings among the residents. Isn't love what makes the world go round! I swear this makes for a cheery, bunch of folks. If you would like to hear more from me about SRC or would like to talk to my parents, please call me at (408)702-0917 Thank You! Karen
