Appalling service and dishonest. I was a regular customer here for several years until January 2012 when the owner (Lena) used a drill on my natural nail bed to remove some residue gel nails. I wasn't aware of the danger at the time, but I went through weeks of pain after this and only afterwards did I read that using a drill on natural nails is a no-no and that alone should be enough to avoid this salon. However, the previous November 1st I bought a $35 gift certificate for a friend who likes an occasional pedicure. I was told the gift certificate was valid for 12 months. My friend went to Total Nails today (June 19th) and was told that the certificate was out of date and that they're only valid for 6 months. NOWHERE on the certificate was this noted. Lena took the certificate from my friend and behind the counter scribbled something on it and then returned it saying ""look... it's only valid till 6/1"". Erm.. okay that's actually 7 months not 6!! If you want to be dishonest and write things on a gift certificate after you've issued them, then you should learn how to count. My friend was then asked to pay for the pedicure. That's just totally dishonest and they should be ashamed of themselves. Avoid this nail shop.
