I am new to the reef hobby and researched several shops including store visits and Upscales came up to the top, even at a slightly higher price I was confident in their ability to help me get into a new setup that I would be happy with. Their pricing is a bit high for some items and they do not have a large selection of dry goods or fish, however they are willing to order in anything you could want for the hobby. The owner Travis is very knowledgeable and was willing to work on setting up my new system without charging me for the labor for drilling, plumbing, setting up the lighting or getting the reactors set up. Everything was dry fit in the shop and Travis was even willing to come to the house on final install to ensure everything went together as he had planned. We even had a bad pump (very very noisy return pump) that when we asked, he replaced within a couple days. I am very pleased with how the entire setup turned out and Travis's support. The hobby is in general very expensive and as with most stores you should really shop around to find the best price (if that is your only concern), however if you need a place to start or have never visited, I would recommend visiting Upscales. I will continue to shop at Upscales and will also continue to support other local shops as I believe in supporting the hobby and so far I have not found any one shop that can do it all.
