Review content:
Andover Park apartments is tucked away in a beautiful wooded setting. Near shopping and restaurants and an adorable duck pond where you can walk and enjoy the surrounding sights. The apartments are spacious and architecturally creative. Management seems pleasant and helpful when moving in but when there's a larger problem they are hell to deal with. Most maintenance isssues are dealt with in a timely manner. If you rent from them and don't have any major or unexpected issues arise in your life this will probably be a good place for you. We were sharing the apartment with my mother in-law who unexpectedly passed away in her sleep. We still had 9 months on our lease, therefore had to break it. Experiencing a sudden death and having to move within a month was horrific to deal with in itself, then mngmnt made it even worse. The lease break fee is enormous (which is understandable) however, due to the circumstances we felt they should waive it. A minimal amount was deducted and still left a large sum due. We were told a final bill of accounting with any balance outstanding, once deposits were applied, would be sent from a 3rd party agency. It was a collection agency and we paid the bill immediately, and believed the issue to be closed. While attempting to rent another property, 10 months after payment had been made, we were told we were declined because a balance was still owed to Andover Park. When calling to resolve this matter, they said their records don't reflect payment because they sent it to their 3rd party agency. What a way to do business! When asked for a letter to confirm the balance was paid I was told they would have to contact their agency and would forward it after that. They were rude and handled the matter with a total disregard for the urgency we expressed was necessary. We were declined because of their poor record keeping! Get with it and follow up to ensure the information you're passing out about past tenants is accurate!
Pros: beautiful setting, near shopping & restaurants
Cons: management team
