My brother and myself drove over 150mi to Lake Norman Toyota in Huntersville, NC. My brother had shopped online and found the vehicle he wanted for what he thought was going to be the price he wanted at this dealership. He spoke with a representative before we left on our 2hr trip to the dealership and worked out all the details for a smooth transaction. The sticker price advertised and confirmed by this dealership was $23,795 (again advertised STICKER price). Once at Lake Norman Toyota we test drove the vehicle and decided to purchase it. My brother brought a CERTIFIED BANK check for the total amount and was willing to pay for the vehicle on the spot. The dealership did not come off their STICKER price whatsoever to make any kind of deal with us. We decided that we would buy the truck despite this. After tax, tag, and dealership fees the dealership wants $25,117 for the truck ($1322 MORE THAN STICKER PRICE). The dealership will not negotiate whatsoever to attempt to meet our $24,000 budget we had set prior to coming. Furthermore the sales and financing people are being arrogant and complete jerks. So we give the deal some thought and decided to go home without the truck. A financing guy chases after us out the door after us telling us he can give us the truck now for $24,400 and lures us back into the business. Once back in we take another look and realize that the truck does not have floormats (a $159 option listed on the sticker). We advise them that we will not pay $159 for floormats that are not in the truck. They agree and give us another price of $24,350. We are beginning paperwork to buy when the guy states he's not going to give us all the price of the floormats and only half of the price of floormats off ($76). Why should we pay for half of floormats when we're getting none? Now we're back at $24,426...no floormats. Fifth time price has been bumped up. Then he demands a Credit Application despite us having cash. We left. Advise, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER Pros: Good selection of vehicles Cons: Horrible customer service. Financing people openly lie and play too many games.
