Review content:
The store may be nice and have nice clerks, but our real disappointment is with the landscaping services through the son, Bob Lucas Jr. After we signed a contract (in Mar.), every conversation was unpleasant and filled with condescending tones. My impressions were that he was very disorganized and his communication skills are seriously lacking. The day they arrived to install our patio, two others tried to argue with him about how he wanted the job done. It was obvious they were actually right with their objections. (As I'm standing there in my backyard, with kids watching, waiting for him to measure out the patio, he stops and starts talking to someone else, cussing about another employee.) They told him there wasn't enough gravel. He replied, ""Go get whatever you need from that empty lot next door. Add dirt to the rock if you have to. I don't care how you do it, just make it work."" We paid $500 for the patio to be raised up a foot in addition to the normal patio price, and I explained that we had plans to landscape around the outside of the patio, yet Bob Jr. insisted on doing us a ""favor...for free"" dumping a few bobcat loads of dirt around the outside ""so we wouldn't have to add so much topsoil later."" That ""free"" work was a disaster!!! They mounded so much dirt, rock and clay around the outside of the patio leaving a huge slope extending 12 feet out from the patio to the middle of the drainage easement. We were so disgusted, but quite frankly didn't trust them enough to fix it and took care of putting in a retaining wall and removing most of that excess ourselves.
