As a previous reviewer said, Dr. McCaleb is everything a vet should be. He is kind and caring to animals and goes the extra mile to make sure our furry friends are happy and healthy. He does not recommend excessive treatments or testing that would be hard on the animal and costly. He is very reasonably priced and does not grossly mark up medications or shots. He is typically on schedule but does take emergency visits when necessary and fits them in between appts which can sometimes cause a delay. He is very thorough and sets aside a good aside of time for each exam so you never feel rushed when you are in there. One of my cats had a bad infection years ago and Dr. McCaleb voluntarily called more than once to check on how my cat was doing with his treatment. He even called me on his days off to make sure my cat was responding well to his treatments. He and his staff also check voicemail on the two days a week the office is closed so they are usually able to respond if there is an emergency. I recently brought another cat in who has been sick and Dr. McCaleb spent nearly an hour examining him and only charged for a basic office visit plus the cost of medication. I have referred several people to Dr. McCaleb and they have all been happy with his thorough exams and good ethics. I have never once felt pressured to purchase anything sold at his clinic nor has he ever offered treatments, testings, surgeries, etc. if it wasn't absolutely necessary. Pets of mine that have had surgery performed by him in the past, while they dislike being there and would obviously prefer to be home, they do not come back completely traumatized or with a new illness as they have previously with other vets they have been to. Dr. McCaleb and his assistant Gayle take great care of pets who have extended stays, call to give updates after surgeries are performed, and allow visiting hours for pets that have to spend the day or night under observation. His mission is to provide animals with the best care possible and not capitalize off of the pets he treats. He is a rare find that really cares about the well being of our pets!
