Review content:
I will never do business with Leonard Building & Truck Accessories in Yorktown, Va., again. I recently purchased a trailer hitch and wiring harness for a late-model pickup from this company. I chose to do business locally instead of online for two reasons. First, I wanted to give my business to a local company. Second, if there was an issue with the equipment, I preferred to work with a local dealer/company so I could deal with any problems face-to-face. Boy was I mistaken. Not only did I pay considerably more by pursuing the local option, but when the wiring harness that I purchased proved defective, I got the cold shoulder from the salesman. He seemed more interested in his paperwork on the counter than dealing with someone looking for satisfaction concerning defective merchandise purchased at his shop. His solution, after purchasing this $70 part, was that he does not warranty electrical components, and that only if his service center installed a plug-and-play harness that takes literally minutes to clip in place, would he honor any sort of warranty. When I suggested that he contact the manufacturer for assistance, he told me that would be a great idea and that I should, in fact, do so. I should mention that I have the sales receipt, and it says nothing about lack of coverage for electrical parts. Further, I have in fact contacted the manufacturer, Curt Mfg, and the service technician asked me a few questions and then put a replacement harness, tested at the factory, in the mail the same day. That's a company that stands by its product, unlike Leonard Building & Truck Accessories who is more concerned about a quick buck than customer satisfaction. Rest assured, I will make sure everyone I know stays away from this company. They're not worth anyone's time or effort. Cons: Don't guarantee their products
